Pellica vs Filmfolio.

Filmfolio is a capable iOS app that pairs a film log with a built-in spot meter and cloud storage for your scans. Pellica matches the log and meter, adds a 1,200+ lab map and scan matching, and runs on Android too.

◉ The short version

Pick Pellica if: you want an Android app, a lab finder built in, and a free tier that covers per-frame logging and metering without a subscription.

Pick Filmfolio if: you are iPhone-only and want full-resolution cloud storage for your scans built into the same app that logs your rolls.

Migration notes · frame 03

Switching from Filmfolio

Filmfolio exports your shot data as CSV, which is exactly what Pellica imports.

01

In Filmfolio, export your rolls and frames as CSV. Your scans live in Filmfolio’s cloud storage; download any you want to keep locally before you cancel a paid plan.

02

In Pellica, open Settings → Import and load the CSV. Frame numbers, film stock, exposure settings, dates, GPS, and notes carry across; missing fields are flagged for review rather than dropped.

03

Then work as usual: meter with Pellica’s built-in light meter, log each frame in one tap, and use the lab map to find a developer — with a free tier that does not gate the basics.

If you rely on Filmfolio’s cloud scan storage, keep in mind Pellica syncs your log and metadata rather than hosting full-resolution scans. Email [email protected] if you want help planning the move.

When Filmfolio is the better choice

Filmfolio is a polished, well-rounded iOS app. Pick it over Pellica when:

You shoot only on an iPhone and want full-resolution cloud storage for your scans built into the same app — Filmfolio includes 20 GB as of July 2026.

You want your finished scans, your log, and a spot meter under one roof and are happy to pay for the cloud tier.

You track unshot film and expiry dates with Filmfolio’s film-storage feature and it already fits your workflow.

An Android app and a built-in lab finder are not things you need.
